The Real Living

We are all drawn into the daily routines, forgetting ourselves with the fast-paced world.  However, we quickly get tired of the routines, so we would want to break them. Living is not about what you should do everyday like going to work, doing house chores or cleaning the backyard. Living is being with yourself and enjoying it. Living is doing the things that you don’t normally do for the sake of change.

It is very important to change our routines every now and then so we don’t get bored. We need to go and spend time with nature, for instance, and stay away from the busy cities. The people who don’t change their routines, they don’t have excitement in their life because they are walking through the same line everyday. Imagine a life without  day and night. We would get bored if it was all day or all night. Life is not the same and it is changing. So are we.  Nevertheless, we don’t have to go to far away places to enjoy ourselves. We can spend an hour of the day reading an interesting book, exercising,  or doing a hobby we truly like. As simple as that. In addition, traveling is considered one of the major things about living. Traveling or even short trips every so often will keep you energetic, excited and full of life.

Thus, Living is doing the things that we like and want to do and not the things that we ought to do because it is a duty.

Yet, the real living is being in the moment and not out of the moment. The moment that we are longing to have. The one that always refreshes our energy. It is being aware of the good moment you are in and living in it.

People in Search For the Ultimate Happiness

A lot of people are still searching for happiness.  Yet, each person defines happiness by their own definitions. It is not a fixed definition that people find in books or memorize  to apply on their lives.  It is simply that everyone views happiness differently.  And, they are striving  to get it even if it means crossing all the seas of the world.

One definition of happiness is satisfaction.  It is the dictionary definition.  When you are satisfied with yourself or your life, that also means you are happy too. On the contrary, the people who are dissatisfied  with their lives are the unhappy ones.  Satisfaction means you don’t demand more things because you have it all. The person who always demand  for more is in a case of dissatisfaction. Realistically, human beings are never completely satisfied. Let’s take this as an example, if you have ten lovely dresses in your wardrobe, are you going to stop buying dresses for the rest of your life or are you still going to the shopping mall to buy a new one?  The truth is, once you find your perfect dress, you are going to put it in your shopping bag.  People always think that what they don’t have at the moment  is always better, gorgeous and wanted.

Yet, they don’t always demand materials. They also demand the things that are not physical as well.  It is a common saying that “money doesn’t buy happiness.” We hear it a lot, but what does it really supposed to mean?  It means that even if you’ve got all the money of the world, you are still not the happiest person on earth.  Does anyone doubt that? It is very true that you may be extremely happy because you can do anything you want with that endless amount of money, but you may also lack other things and in that case, money is not much of a solution. If you took an inside look at the lives of the rich people, you will see that their lives are more problematic than the poor ones. The Poor  live a very simple and perhaps a happier life, whereas the rich live in very complex contexts. The more money in our pockets is, the more things we desire and nothing really satisfies our needs.  Naturally, a kid  from a wealthy family would ask for more things than a kid from a normal family.   The point is, it is not about being rich or poor, it is about what happiness means to you as an individual regardless of who you are or what sort of life you are living.

Ultimate happiness is not easy to find or capture. There is no single person in this world that is ultimately happy.  All the happy moments that we  have been through throughout our lifetime are just temporary and never permanent.  We do feel the elation at those moments, but once the moments are done and passed, we are no longer happy. One person might think that the ultimate happiness is being lost at a fascinating place and forgetting all the worries. Another person would say that his ultimate happiness is being at the beach in a full-moon night. However, we don’t  know what the real ultimate happiness really is.  Lastly, people  still haven’t completed their search in finding the ultimate happiness.

The Effect of Music

Does anyone believe in music therapy? Believe it or not, music is a therapy. Music can affect your mood, which means that it can make you feel better. It can alter your state, and it can alter mine, too.

I am a music lover, and I listen to music every day.  Also, I always get emotionally affected by music. If I were sad, it can make me happy. If I were happy, it can make me happier and lift my spirit up. Music can even make us laugh or make us cry. If I were listening to a sad song, I would feel the tears inside of  my eyes right away. It is my nature that I am so passionate about music.

Not only the music, but also the singer’s voice plays a role. A singer’s voice can move you emotionally if it was so good at singing. Yet, not all the voices can have the same effect to the listener. In addition, I like to pick the soft voices because they really make me live in my own peaceful world.

More important, I care about the words, which means that the lyrics have to contain strong and meaningful words. Sometimes, a song can really relate to me or you in some way. A song can also relate to my life or yours. Perhaps it is the choice of the words and the way it is sung. So, have you ever listened to a song that you think it is about you? Then I share you the same feeling.

Music can also relate to your past memories. Imagine that you were listening to a certain song when you were a kid and this song was replayed many times. Thus, when you listen to it as an adult, it will remind you of your childhood or some events happened during that time. I have lots of songs which still remind me of my past days.

At the end, music is more than just a melody. Music is like a magic, and it has some kind of a power. Music does relate to your emotions and internal state. This is what I discovered.

Feeling Pretty from Within

A lot of people do not understand the meaning of prettiness. One of the prettiness perspectives is buying designer clothes or luxurious stuff. But they are all just objects at the end! They are not the core things.  Buying things or possessing so much stuff is not what makes one pretty. It is the feeling of prettiness. So, do you really feel pretty from within?

You need to reach a high level of understanding in order to achieve this feeling. Instead of looking at objects as objects, there are deeper things that matter the most that need to be looked at. Don’t be shallow! For instance, start looking at people as souls and not at their outfits or the way they look. Of course, we all want to look good and pretty, but we need to feel pretty as well. But the question is: How do we feel pretty?

We only feel pretty when we love ourselves. The self needs more attention. We need to be left alone with ourselves. It means that we need to gather our thoughts to see where are the most beautiful parts of us.  It could be in our persona or our outside looks. I believe no one is unattractive. We just do not know how to show our beauty right.  For example, I do not have a clear skin – there are acnes here and there, yet I have  nice hair. Also, if you were overweight, discover the wonderful things in you instead of concerning about your weight. Everyone of us has something unique about her what we can call it “pretty”. Therefore, we need to boost ourselves in a way that we can appreciate what we’ve got.

The message that I am trying to give is that we do not have to look perfect in order to look pretty. We can just love us the way we are even if we weren’t actually ‘perfect.’ And so, the things that we buy or the expensive clothes that we wear do not make us glamorous. We glamorize ourselves by our personas, our spirits. We make our lives pretty when we look at life from another angle.  And remember, always look at the full half  of your glass rather than the empty half .
